Former Shockers Compete in NYC Marathon

NEW YORK – Former Shockers Kellyn Taylor and Aliphine Tuliamuk placed in the top 15 of the New York City Marathon Sunday morning.

Kellyn Taylor finished the marathon in eighth place running the 26.2 mile course in 2:29.56 with a 5:44 mile pace. Taylor was the third American to cross the finish line.

Aliphine Tuliamuk ran the marathon in 2:33.18 with a 5:51 mile pace to finish 11th overall and fifth American.

American Shalane Flanagan won the race in 2:26.53 for the women, Kenyan Geoffrey Kamworor won the men's race with a time of 2:10.
