PALM HARBOR, Fla. - Senior Yannik Emmert and sophomore Zac Owens hold spots in the top 10 after the first round of the American Athletic Conference Championship on Sunday.
Emmert shot a 1-under par to come in a tie for third, starting his day with two birdies in his first five holes. After shooting an even par in his next four holes, Emmert bogeyed his first hole in the back nine and shot for par in his final eight holes to be placed in a tie for third.
The Bucholz, Germany native is only four strokes back from the individual lead, with McClure Meissner from SMU finishing the day with a 5-under par performance.
