Malibu, Calif.- Sophomore Fatima Bizhukova finished pre-qualifying play Sunday afternoon in Malibu at the ITA All-American Championships. Bizhukova went 2-1 on the weekend for the Shockers.
Bizhukova faced Katarina Jokic in the final round of pre-qualifying and came up short to finish play in singles. The University of Georgia freshman defeated Bizhukova in straight sets 6-1, 6-1 on the campus of Pepperdine University.
"Fatya had a great day yesterday against two quality opponents. Her opponent today is one of the best freshman in the country and was firing on all cylinders," head coach Colin Foster said.
