WICHITA – Wichita State's 2026 KT Woodman Classic and Shocker Pre-State Challenge, originally scheduled for April 9-11, have been canceled due to weather-related construction delays at University Stadium.
Prolonged rainfall (53") throughout the summer and fall of 2025 significantly impacted progress on the new state-of-the-art track and field facility, necessitating the cancellation. Despite the delays to the April meets, Wichita State confirmed that the 2026 KSHSAA Track and Field Championships will proceed as scheduled at University Stadium.
The KT Woodman Classic and Shocker Pre-State Challenge are slated to return April 8-10, 2027.
"We are so excited about the new track and field facility in University Stadium here at Wichita State," head coach Steve Rainbolt said.
