COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Western Michigan women's soccer team continued its winning ways on Friday night at the Historic Crew Stadium. The Broncos downed Bowling Green, 1-0, to earn a second consecutive MAC Tournament Championship.
WMU will now head back to the NCAA Tournament for a second consecutive season. The Brown and Gold have won five MAC Championships (3 regular season, 2 tournament) over the last three seasons.
Heidi Thomasma delivered the game-winning goal for the Broncos, scoring in the 60th minute. Drew Martin picked up the assist, pushing her into a tie for the single-season program record.
