CLEVELAND – The Western Michigan women's soccer team tied for the most Academic All-Mid-American Conference selections after 13 student-athletes earned the honors on Thursday.
The Broncos tied with Toledo and Ball State for the most in the conference. The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport. WMU senior Alex Ruffer was one of just 17 student-athletes selected that has earned a perfect 4.
