Western Michigan shutout Ohio 1-0 at home to earn their first conference win of the season. The Broncos responded well after tying their Mid-American Conference season opener just a day earlier.
The first half was all defense for both teams with each only getting one shot on goal. It was a wet day at the field with each team taking time adapting to the playing surface.
The second half had more offense from both teams with Western leading in shots 12-6 and shots on goal 6-5. The only goal came in the 63rd minute when sophomore Morgan Otteson scored on a header from a cross by Grace Labadie.
