Women's soccer drop season opener

Western Michigan women’s soccer fall in their season opener on the road against the University of Iowa, 2-0.

The Hawkeyes were able to control much of the run of play as they outshot the Broncos 16-2 and 7-1 on net. Sophomore forward Morgan Otteson was the only Bronco to have a shot on frame and sophomore goaltender Hannah Sargent made five saves in the match.

"Iowa was a very good team," said head coach Sammy Boateng. "We played our style of play from the beginning of the game until the end. We made a few mistakes but they were all fixable things.
