This was the second loss in the Mid-American Conference for the broncos as their record went to 7-4-1 overall and a 2-2-1 record in the MAC.
The first half went back and forth with each team getting their own chances on goal. WMU had more scoring chances in the first half than Ball State. However, they failed to capitalize on those opportunities and the first half came to a close in a 0-0 tie. Bronco goalkeeper Stephanie Heber kept the Ball State attack under control with her four saves in the first half.
The score line did not stay the same for long.
