Final: Akron 14, WMU 13

Despite outgaining Akron 426-215, Western Michigan snapped its 12-game Mid-American Conference winning streak at 12 games with a one-point loss to the Zips.

The Broncos had a chance to tie or take the lead with a final drive that started on their own 29-yard line with 45 seconds left.

WMU quarterback Jon Wassink led the offense to the Akron 39-yard line, but the drive stalled with a pair of incompletions and a sack that ran the clock down to 0:00.

The biggest stat on a night that saw WMU dominate the box score was the team's one score on four trips inside the red zone.
