WMU's Justin Tranquill out for year, Eric Assoua expected to return

KALAMAZOO, MI - Western Michigan coach delivered Tuesday the news that Broncos fans feared, as they watched starting strong safety Justin Tranquill get helped off the field during Saturday's game against Michigan State.

Tranquill tore his right ACL for the second time in his playing career, and the redshirt sophomore will miss the remainder of the 2017 season.

"It hurts," Leter said during his weekly press conference at the Radisson Plaza Hotel. "I thought he'd be an all-MAC player. I love the kid and love his work ethic.

"He's done it before, so it's not like it's something he hasn't dealt with before, and he has a great attitude.
