KALAMAZOO, MI - As a big-bodied wide receiver, Western Michigan's Giovanni Ricci enjoyed locking on to defensive backs and driving them downfield in the Broncos' run game.
Rest assured, the Ohio native will have plenty more chances to do that in 2018.
After starting five games at receiver and catching 12 passes for 80 yards in 2017, Ricci will line up at tight end for his redshirt junior campaign this fall, providing the Broncos with a downfield threat from the position group, which also includes a punishing blocker in senior Odell Miller.
"I'm going to embrace any role I can get," said Ricci, whose sophomore season was cut short by a lacerated spleen in Week 6.
