Western Michigan senior midfielder Brandon Bye was named the NCAA Men's Soccer Division I Scholar Athlete of the Year after leading the Broncos to a historic season, while at the same time exceling in the classroom.
Selected as the Mid-American Conference Player of the Year, Bye led the league with 12 goals to go along with seven assists, en route to becoming the first All-American for WMU, which finished the season with a program-best 17-4-1 record.
