WMU women's tennis opens season with pair of wins over Ferris State

Western Michigan women’s tennis started its 2020-21 season by beating Ferris State 6-1 and 7-0 in a double-header Saturday.

It was the first opportunity for the student-athletes to suit up and compete since the COVID-19 shutdown.

"Being off for 333 days since our last match, I had no idea what to expect," said head coach Ryan Tomlinson. "We had some first match jitters but I think we played relatively well, all considering. We have some things to work on but we will enjoy a day off tomorrow and get back to work on Monday."

"All 11 players that suited up today contributed in some way, shape or form in both wins and that is great moving forward.
