WMU senior outside hitter Rachel Bontrager earned preseason All-MAC honors and the Broncos were picked to finish third in the MAC West as the conference rolled out preseason polls and all-conference teams Thursday.
Bontrager earned her second All-MAC selection last season after leading the MAC with 414 kills, an average of 3.7 per set. She recorded double-digit kills in 25 of 28 matches in 2019 and reached the 1000-kill mark for her career.
Coming into the spring, Bontrager ranks tenth in WMU history in career kills (1269), fifth in attack attempts (3662) and double-doubles (at least 10 kills and digs) (34).
