WMU RB LeVante Bellamy providing big plays as deep passing game struggles

KALAMAZOO, MI - Through two weeks, Western Michigan has yet to eclipse 100 yards passing in a game.

Although the Broncos' running game carved up USC for 263 yards, the lack of a downfield threat was a key factor against Michigan State, which loaded the box to stop WMU's running backs in the Spartans' 28-14 win.

Against Power Five and the top-tier teams from the Group of Five conferences, running into eight or nine-player fronts for three consecutive plays isn't a recipe for picking up first downs, but one way the Broncos have been able to counter the opposition's aggressive defense is with speedster LeVante Bellamy.
