KALAMAZOO, MI - On one sideline, there is a Heisman Trophy front runner and potential No. 1 pick in the 2018 NFL draft.
On the other sideline, a first-year starter with zero collegiate snaps to his name.
But Western Michigan football coach Tim Lester can't help but find similarities between USC star quarterback Sam Darnold and Broncos' redshirt sophomore Jon Wassink.
It might not be their abilities to pick apart opposing defenses at this point, but what's under the helmet that draws the comparison.
"He reminds me of Jon demeanor-wise," Lester said of USC's 6-foot-4, 225-pound redshirt sophomore.
