WMU offensive tackle Chukwuma Okorafor earns first-team All-America honors

KALAMAZOO, MI - For the second consecutive year, a Western Michigan football player has been recognized among the nation's top players at his position by the Football Writers Association of America.

The 76-year-old organization included WMU senior left tackle Chukwuma Okorafor on its first-team All-America list for 2017, after the 6-foot-6, 330-pound lineman helped the Broncos rush for 224.8 yards per game, which ranked 23rd nationally. The WMU offensive line also limited opponents to 22 sacks and 12 quarterback hurries in 12 games.

After earning second team All-American honors from Walter Camp and Sports Illustrated, Okorafor's FWAA nod makes him WMU's second first-team selection in two years, with current Tennessee Titans receiver Corey Davis earning consensus All-American honors in 2016.
