The team will be the number one seed and look to repeat the results in 2003 when they won the tournament. The team is going to have a tough challenge in the University of Akron. Akron has won the tournament 11 times in the past 13 years and won the past five titles. However, Akron has won the regular season title the past 13 years and WMU put a stop to that streak.
Last year the Broncos made the MAC tournament as the number four seed where they faced off with familiar foe Akron. During the same season WMU ended up losing the game against Akron 4-0 and will look to avenge that loss in this year’s final.
