WMU men’s basketball head coach Clayton Bates has had to handle many unique challenges while taking over a program in the coronavirus-centered summer of 2020.
The cancellation of fall sports by the Mid-American Conference along with several others around the country has led to a lot of speculation about changes that could be coming to basketball season. Bates said the team is staying focused on what they can control and not paying attention to rumors.
“There’s a lot of unknowns,” Bates said. “All we can do is be prepared, be willing to adapt, be ready to adjust, and control our attitude and our mindset going forward.
