WMU hockey uses big third period to complete comeback over No. 4 Minnesota-Duluth

The No. 19 Broncos continued their winning ways on Friday night at home in the first game of its two-game series against the defending national champions and No. 4 ranked Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs.

WMU won the contest 5-3 thanks to a surging third period where they scored three goals in just under two minutes.

At first, game one looked to be solely dominated by the Bulldogs as they outplayed the Broncos physically and kept the puck in WMU’s zone. The Bulldogs points leader, defenseman Scott Perunovich drew first blood as he put the first goal on the board for Duluth seven and a half minutes into the first period.
