WMU hockey swept by Miami after losing 5-1 on Sunday

The Broncos fell on Sunday, 5-1, to Miami in the second game of the weekend series. The pair of losses suffered by WMU in its first two home games following pod play in December moved its record on the year to 2-8-2.

The game started out well for the Broncos, as WMU controlled the puck and was the more physical team early. The team cashed in on its aggression with the third goal of the year from Luke Grainger at the 11:13 mark in the first period. Grainger’s goal was assisted by Josh Passolt and Ronnie Attard.

Miami was able to strike back less than two minutes later as Ben Lown scored his first goal of the season to tie the game at one goal apiece.
