WMU Hockey Sweeps Omaha, Sits in First Place in the NCHC

KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Western Michigan hockey team sits alone at the top of the National Collegiate Hockey Conference standings after sweeping Omaha over the weekend.

Wade Allison had two goals in the first period of Saturday's win over Omaha.

On Friday the Broncos jumped out to an early 2-0 lead and finished off the Mavericks, 4-1.

On Saturday WMU had a two-goal lead throughout the second and third period before an empty-netter pushed the final score to 5-2.
