Sophomore goalie Ben Blacker had 33 saves to make him the top star for the first game of the season. Junior forward Colt Conrad made the stars list as well, scoring the third goal of the game and had three overall assists. The third star of Friday’s game was Sophomore forward Wade Allison, scoring two of the night’s goals and assisting in one of Conrad’s.
The night started off with much energy from the Lawson Lunatics, which gave the arena an exciting atmosphere and much support for the Broncos. Freshman forward Paul Washe made his first goal as a Bronco and the first goal of the season with less than four minutes into the game during a WMU power play.
