KALAMAZOO, Mich. – For the second-straight week the Western Michigan hockey team comes in at No. 8 in both the US College Hockey Online and USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine polls.
WMU is coming off a split at Omaha, winning 4-3 on Friday and falling 6-3 on Saturday. The three points the Broncos earned helped maintain their top-four position in the National Collegiate Hockey Conference, currently sitting in third place. WMU holds a four-point advantage over fourth-place Denver and has a seven-point gap on North Dakota.
This is the fifth week overall this season that WMU has been ranked in the top 15.
