KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Western Michigan hockey team opens the 2017-18 season hosting Wilfrid Laurier on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. for its annual "Border Battle" exhibition game.
The 20th-ranked Broncos are 5-0 all-time against the Golden Hawks. The last exhibition meeting between the two schools came on Oct. 7, 2006 and resulted in an 8-3 win by WMU. Prior to that, the other four meetings came in 1978 and 1979. Tickets for the game are just $10 and can be purchased online at wmubroncos.
