WMU hockey defeats MSU 3-1 in Lawson Arena

The Broncos struck first, off a goal from sophomore forward Hugh McGing with an assist from sophomore defenseman Luke Bafia and sophomore goalie Ben Blacker in the first period. Neither team saw another goal until the third period.

Michigan State’s sophomore forward Patrick Khodorenko scored a one-time slap-shot off a pass from senior defenseman Carson Glatt early in the third period. Western Michigan answered quickly when freshman forward Josh Passolt scored off an assist from senior defenseman Neal Goff. It was Passolt’s second goal of the season. At this point, WMU led the Michigan State Spartans 2-1 in the third period.
