WMU hockey defeated by No. 8 Denver, 3-2

WMU hockey dropped its fifth game of the season on Tuesday evening at the pod in Omaha, Neb. with a 3-2 setback against the No. 8 Denver Pioneers.

In the game’s opening couple of minutes, the Broncos were around Denver’s net as they came out with high energy looking to get the game’s first goal.

But a holding penalty on WMU’s Aidan Fulp stunted WMU’s early momentum and sent the Pioneers on their first power play of the game just under three minutes in. Then, immediately off the faceoff, Denver’s Cole Guttman put home a shot off a centering pass five second into the power play to make it 1-0 Denver with 17:01 to play in the first period.
