KALAMAZOO, Mich.- Western Michigan's Darius Phillips was named the Mid-American Conference Special Teams Player of the Year for the second straight season and in total, the Broncos had 12 all-conference selections.
Phillips accounted for three of the 12 All-MAC recognitions, bring named to the First Team as a kickoff return specialist and defensive back, while earning Second Team honors as a punt returner. Repeating as Special Teams Player of the Year, he became just the second MAC player to win the award in back-to-back seasons and the first since Antonio Brown in 2008 & 2009.
