Western came out with a quick, five play, 66-yard drive, capped with a 47-yard touchdown run by Jarvion Franklin, giving Western a 7-0 lead. Both teams traded punts until late in the first quarter, when Western went on six play, 89-yard drive, capped with an eight-yard touchdown run by Davon Tucker, widening Western’s lead to 14-0.
Central followed with a drive that netted them first downs for the first time in the game, an eight play, 75-yard drive, capped by a three-yard run by Shane Morris, cutting Western’s lead to 14-7.
Western’s following five play, 32-yard drive ended when Sean Bunting intercepted Reece Goddard’s overthrown pass.
