When starting linebacker Devin Bush went down with an injury last Sunday in the Pittsburgh Steelers 38-7 win over the Browns, nobody knew what to expect out of his replacement, Western Michigan alumni Robert Spillane.
He had recently spent time on the practice squad and on special teams, accumulating one tackle this season before Sunday's game.
Spillane stepped in for Bush and made six total tackles, including a tackle for loss. Head coach Mike Tomlin said Spillane will mostly be the player filling Bush’s role while Bush undergoes surgery for a damaged ACL.
