KALAMAZOO, Mich. – One day after its shutout performance in the series opener, Western Michigan baseball was held to just five hits and no runs on Saturday as the Broncos dropped game two to Toledo, 3-0 at Robert J. Bobb Stadium.
Western Michigan recorded two of its five hits in the bottom of the ninth as both freshman Blake Dunn and junior Nate Grys each recorded singles. WMU loaded the bases in the ninth after junior Jimmy Roche got on base thanks to an error by the Toledo shortstop.
However, the WMU rally was halted as three pitches later the Broncos grounded into a 4-6-3 double play to end the game.
