WMU coach Tim Lester sees some Devin Hester in kick returner Darius Phillips

KALAMAZOO, MI - Growing up in the Windy City suburb of Wheaton, Illinois instilled Western Michigan football coach Tim Lester with a lifelong love for the Chicago Bears.

Even when he embarked on his own professional football career and subsequently began coaching at the college level, his fandom never wavered, especially in 2008 when a dominating defense and the kick return feats of Devin Hester led the Bears to Super Bowl XLI.

Hester's six return touchdowns in the 2007-08 season set an NFL record, and he showed Lester how much one player can impact a game on special teams.
