WMU Churns Out the Wins on Day One of the Vredevelt Invitational

KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Western Michigan men's tennis team racked up the wins on the opening day of the Vredevelt Invitation played at Sorensen Courts and West Hills Athletic Club on Saturday.

In singles action Kyle Lohse, Brogan Pierce, Ferdinand Schlueter, Jackson Boone, Peter Kuszynski, Arjun Honnappa and Anton Arzhankin all picked up wins in the first round of singles action. For Arzhankin, his win over Chicago State's Sanchez, 6-0, 6-3, was the first of his career with WMU.

The teams got in two rounds of doubles action, with Kuszynski and Arzhankin defeating Notre Dame's duo of ZHang and Bilsey, 6-4.
