KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan Division of Intercollegiate Athletics and Director of Athletics Dan Bartholomae have announced a change in leadership for the WMU cross country and track and field programs, with head coach Makiba Batten not returning for the 2022-23 season.
Assistant coach Kevin Cataldo will serve as the interim head coach for the programs. Cataldo joined the Broncos as an assistant coach in March 2022, after serving in the same position at Southern Illinois for six seasons.
With the Salukis, he helped coach three conference title winners and two runners-up, three NCAA Regional qualifiers, and saw three of his student-athletes earn First Team All-Conference honors.
