CLEVELAND – Western Michigan junior left-hander Joey Wizceb has been named MAC Pitcher of the Week, the league office announced on Monday. He is the second Bronco to earn MAC Pitcher of the Week this season, joining fellow lefty Reese Gaber, who has won the award twice.
Wizceb was dominant on Saturday against Central Michigan, tossing a complete game, three-hit shutout to secure the series victory for the Broncos. It was the first nine-inning complete game shutout for a Western Michigan pitcher since Keegan Akin blanked Ohio over nine innings on May 13, 2016.
