For the entire summer, it seems as if Western Michigan football has not been able to catch a break in regard to its nonconference schedule.
On Thursday, that changed for the program after learning it will still play Notre Dame for its originally scheduled game on Sat., Sept. 19 after the Fighting Irish released its full schedule.
The matchup at Notre Dame Stadium will be the only nonconference game for the Fighting Irish, who will be a member of the Atlantic Coastal Conference for the 2020 season.
Last week, the ACC announced plans to have each of its members play 10 conference games and one nonconference game, as long as the nonconference game is a home game or an in-state contest for the ACC team.
