Western Michigan inks highest-rated class in MAC history on early signing day

KALAMAZOO, MI - College football’s inaugural early signing period Wednesday proved to be a historic moment for Western Michigan, which secured the best recruiting class in Mid-American Conference history.

The Broncos received signed letters of intent from 20 players on the first day of the 72-hour signing period, including the highest-ranked pledge in Muskegon four-star offensive tackle Antwan (A.J) Reed.

“This is a special class, and obviously our first full class where we had 365 days to put it together,” said WMU coach Tim Lester, who took over the program in January with less than three weeks to lock up his first recruiting class.
