Western Michigan hockey has three players picked in 2018 NHL Draft

KALAMAZOO, MI - If the opinion of NHL scouts means anything, the future is bright for the Western Michigan hockey program.

Three Broncos heard their names called during Saturday's NHL Draft, marking the most WMU selections during coach Andy Murray's eight seasons in Kalamazoo.

Mattias Samuelsson was the first off the board, going to the Buffalo Sabres with their second-round pick, 32nd overall.
