It’s probably not how Josh Grant envisioned his first game-winning field goal, but his 21-yard chip shot in the first overtime ended up clinching the Broncos’ win over Eastern Michigan, after Eagles’ kicker Paulie Fricano missed a 24-yard attempt on EMU’s first possession of the extra session.

WMU moves to 5-3, while EMU falls to 2-5.

The Eagles turned another fourth-down attempt into a big play, as Brogan Roback found Eddie Daugherty for a 29-yard gain down to the WMU 3-yard line on fourth-and-11.

The Eagles hustled to the line, and Breck Turner punched it in on the following play to tie the game.
