Western Michigan crushes Ball State, 55-3, in MAC football opener

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - Jon Wassink connected on 14 of 20 passes for three touchdowns as Western Michigan got the Mid-American Conference season rolling with a 55-3 victory over Ball State on Saturday.

Keishan Watson caught five passes for 93 yards and two touchdowns, while Donnie Ernsberger added 67 yards and a touchdown on four catches.

Jamauri Bogan led the Broncos in rushing with 69 yards on 13 carries, while Jarvian Franklin, LaVante Bellamy and Davon Tucker added rushing touchdowns.

Western Michigan improves to 3-2 on the season with a victory in the conference opener for both teams.
