KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Western Michigan senior quarterback Jon Wassink received the National Football Foundation (NFF) State of Michigan Chapter Michael R. Sadler D1 Scholar Athlete of the Year award on Saturday night. The award was presented at the Lansing Radisson Hotel during the 2020 Michigan High School Football Coaches Association Dream Team Banquet.
Named in honor of Mike Sadler, a former Michigan State punter who died in a car accident in Wisconsin in 2016, the award is presented to the outstanding Division I Scholar Athlete in Michigan. Wassink joins Zach Terrell (2016) as Bronco recipients.
