Volleyball’s Bontrager Named MAC Player of the Year; Case MAC Setter & Freshman of the Year

CLEVELAND – The Mid-American Conference announced its postseason awards on Wednesday with Western Michigan volleyball senior outside hitter Rachel Bontrager earning MAC Player of the Year honors. Alongside Bontrager, freshman setter Logan Case was named MAC co-Setter & Freshman of the Year.

Bontrager and Case also earned First Team All-MAC honors with Case being named to the MAC All-Freshman Team. Joining Bontrager and Case was sophomore Maggie King who garnered Second Team All-MAC honors. Western Michigan led the conference with seven all-conference honors and awards.

Senior outside hitter Rachel Bontrager becomes the ninth player in school history and first since Zakiya Pope back in 2000 to earn MAC Player of the Year honors.
