Final: USC 49, Western Michigan 31
USC's depth prevailed over the final 15 minutes, as the Trojans seemed to get stronger as the game went on.
Stephen Carr kicked off the fourth-quarter scoring with a 1-yard touchdown run, capping a 12-play drive that gave the Trojans a 28-21 lead.
USC seemed to be poised to take control after securing its first lead since early in the first quarter, but WMU's Darius Phillips had other plans.
The senior cornerback caught the ensuing kickoff inside his own end zone and outran USC's coverage team for a 100-yard score that pulled the Broncos even again.
