Both players suffered their injuries early in fall camp in individual drills. Lester said French’s injury is the exact same injury quarterback Jon Wassink sustained late last season.

French, a 295-pound defensive tackle from St. Joseph High School, played in 13 games in 2018, starting in four of them. He finished last season with 22 tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss after switching from offensive line in the spring of 2018.
