KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan track and field team is back in action for the first time since March of 2020, heading to Central Michigan University to open the 2021 Indoor Season on Saturday.
The last time the team had competed was at the 2020 Indoor Mid-American Conference Championship before the outdoor season was postponed due to COVID-19.
"We are excited and grateful to get the season started," said second-year head coach Makiba Batten. "This past year has challenged us all mentally and physically, but we have made it through. Even though our numbers are down this year we have a group of tough young women who won't give up and continue to roll with the constant changes.
