Track & Field Dominates in Win Over Oakland

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan track and field team opened up the 2018 indoor season with a dominant 90-44 win over Oakland University at its annual Ice Breaker meet at University arena on Saturday.

The Broncos won 11 of the 13 events on the day, earning victories in the 400m dash, 800m run, mile run, 3,000m run, 4x400m relay, high jump, long jump, triple jump, shot put and weight thrown.

Western Michigan opened the meet by sweeping the field events. Senior Savannah Dugan got things started with a win in the weight throw after throwing a distance of 15.
