COLOGNE, Germany – Western Michigan hockey junior forward Frederik Tiffels has been named to Germany's roster for the 2017 International Ice Hockey Federation World Championships in Germany, beginning on Friday.
Tiffels, a Cologne native, will get to play in front of his home town for all of Germany's seven group stage games. Tiffels earned a spot after starring for the team during their pre-tournament games. Recently he scored two highlight goals in a win over Latvia.
"We are very proud of Freddy," said head coach Andy Murray. "It's always a great experience to get to represent your country and play against some of the top players in the world.
