CLEVELAND – Western Michigan senior outside back Tiffany Buckler has been named Mid-American Conference Co-Defensive Player of the Week for her performance in WMU's 1-0 win over Valparaiso last Friday.
Buckler scored the lone goal of the game in the 40th minute to seal the Broncos' third-straight victory. It was the second goal of the season and her second game-winning goal after scoring the winner against Youngstown State. The Rochester, Mich., native also helped shut down the Crusader attack and extending WMU's current shutout streak to 284 minutes.
Buckler and the Broncos (5-2-0, 0-0-0 MAC) are back in action this weekend, opening Mid-American Conference play at Buffalo on Friday at 7 p.
