AKRON, Ohio – Western Michigan senior thrower Taylor Eaton claimed first place in the weight throw as the WMU track and field team wrapped up the first day of action at the 17th Annual Akron Invitational on Friday night.
Eaton threw a distance of 57' 11.25" (17.66m) to best Texas State's Lauryn Small for the win. The throw by Eaton decimated her previous personal best of 56' 0.5" set back at the GVSU Big Meet last season. Fellow senior Aniya Davis finished just .75" behind Small to take third place with a distance of 56' 8.
